Herbalife is the first brand that comes to your mind when you think of meal replacement shakes, as they are market leader in most of the countries where you can buy meal replacement shakes, so mostly the developed countries. The brand´s most successful product is the Formula 1 Healthy Meal Nutritional Shake Mix, which can be purchased in a variety of flavors, such as vanilla, chocolate or in fancier flavors, including mint chocolate, orange cream and cookies ´n cream. Despite the tempting flavors, the shake is actually not as good for you as you might think. I got actually kind of scared when I read some other Herbalife Reviews. One person took part in a 60-day challenge using Herbalife and was the winner within the focus group of 20 people, being on a diet of 800 calories a day. This person experienced “fatigue, cramping in the lower abdomen, constipation, low energy, memory fog, depression, anxiety, arthritis pain, back pain, not sleeping or over-sleeping, hair loss and cracked nails”. I guess this is not the typical way it goes, because this sounds like a real crash diet.
The amount of calories is way too low, and will not allow the body to function properly. I think incorporating the shakes into a regular diet should not cause these scary results. Nevertheless, I wanted to be part of the Herbalife Reviews as I tried the product myself too. I enjoyed the taste, even though it was a little too sweet for me. I started with vanilla and chocolate, because I wanted to experience a nice flavor but without any too fancy creations. I replaced only my breakfast with it, because I prefer savory options for lunch and dinner. Mixing it with almond milk and fruit I liked it a lot. Nevertheless, I did not really see any groundbreaking results. That is why I started mixing it only with water, in order to save calories. I finally lost a few pounds then, but nothing seriously, it did not taste as good anymore and I did not feel satisfied afterwards either. That was the point where I took a closer look at the ingredients and I did not like what I found out. The ingredients label says that it has 9 grams of sugar per scoop, which explains why I thought it is too sweet. It also has only 9 grams of protein, which explains why it was not satisfying, as protein contributes to the fact of feeling full.
Other Herbalife Reviews even informed that Formula 1 contains not only sugar, but even more harmful ingredients, such as genetically modified soy, corn, canola and cottonseed. It also contains MSG, highly processed trans- and hydrogenated fats, artificial flavors, preservatives and sweeteners such as sucralose. To me this sounds not like a healthy weight loss tool. I am not looking for any weird crash diets, I want to lose weight in a healthy way. That is why I so far prefer just sticking to a healthy diet by cutting out all the junk food and eating many veggies and fruits. I also incorporated more exercise into my lifestyle and I can say that I do see results now. I lost six pounds in two weeks, which is not bad and I can be sure that I am not starving my body or stuff with it with artificial ingredients. If you still want to stick to meal replacement shakes, because they make it easier for you to control the amount of calories you take in, be aware that not always the most popular products are the best. There are other emergent brands, which use natural ingredients and no sugar, talking about yoli yes, 310 Shake or the bigger brand Shakeology. I am sure you will find a better shake among them.
